Before You Connect
Unlike Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn — which require business-type accounts for publishing — X (Twitter) allows connection with both personal and business accounts. Any standard X account can be connected.
Make sure you're logged into the X account you want to connect before starting the process.
Connecting Your X Account
- Navigate to Dashboard → Platforms
- Click Add Platform or the + button
- Select X (Twitter)
- Click Connect X
- You'll be redirected to X's authorization page
- Log in with your X account credentials
- Review the permissions Aibrify is requesting
- Click Authorize app
Your X account will appear in Dashboard → Platforms with a "Connected" status indicator.
Required Permissions
Aibrify requests these X permissions:
- Read and write — To post tweets and read your timeline data
- Read your account — To display your username and follower count
- Access Direct Messages (read-only) — Used for analytics on some plans
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in X's connected apps settings, but removing write access will prevent publishing.
X Content Specifics
X has distinct content characteristics your team accounts for:
- Character limit: 280 characters for standard posts; 25,000 characters for X Premium (if applicable)
- Thread support: Your team can create multi-tweet threads for longer content
- Hashtags: X research shows 1–2 hashtags performs better than many; your team uses them sparingly
- Timing: X users are most active during commute hours and lunch — typically 8–10am and 12–1pm
- Media: Images, GIFs, and short videos (up to 2 minutes 20 seconds) are supported
X/Twitter API Changes
X's API has undergone significant changes since 2023. Aibrify stays current with the latest API requirements to ensure reliable publishing. If you notice any publishing failures on X, check Dashboard → Platforms for connection status and message your team.
Reconnecting
X access tokens can expire or be revoked. If publishing to X stops working:
- Go to Dashboard → Platforms
- Find your X account and click Reconnect
- Authorize again through X's login flow
Note on X (Twitter) Content Strategy
X is different from other platforms in important ways:
- Conversation-driven: Engaging with replies and trending conversations drives more reach than one-way posting
- Real-time: Timely commentary on industry news and trending topics performs well
- Volume: X typically requires more frequent posting (1–3x daily) compared to other platforms
Your team takes these factors into account when creating your X content strategy.
