Connect your Instagram business or creator account to Aibrify in three steps: go to Dashboard → Platforms → Add Platform, select Instagram, and authorize access via Facebook. Your team can then schedule and publish content to your account.

Before You Connect

Instagram publishing requires a Business or Creator account. Personal accounts cannot be connected to third-party publishing tools including Aibrify.

Check your account type:

1. Open Instagram and go to your profile

2. Tap the three-line menu → Settings → Account

3. Look for "Account type" — it should say "Business" or "Creator"

If it says "Personal," tap Switch to Professional Account and follow the prompts. Choose Business for brand accounts.

Instagram publishing also requires connecting via Facebook — Instagram and Facebook share the same API (Meta Business Suite). You'll need to have your Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page.

Connecting Your Instagram Account

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Platforms
  2. Click Add Platform or the + button
  3. Select Instagram
  4. Click Connect via Facebook
  5. You'll be redirected to Facebook's authorization page
  6. Log in to the Facebook account that manages your Instagram page
  7. Select the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account
  8. Grant the requested permissions (Aibrify needs posting and insights access)
  9. Click Continue to complete the authorization

Once connected, you'll see your Instagram account appear in Dashboard → Platforms with a green "Connected" status indicator.

Required Permissions

Aibrify requires the following permissions to manage your Instagram account:

  • Publish content — To schedule and post on your behalf
  • Read insights — To pull performance data into your analytics dashboard
  • Manage comments (optional) — Required for comment moderation features on higher plans

Do not revoke any of these permissions after connecting, as this will break publishing.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

"Account not eligible" error:

This usually means your account is set to Personal. Switch to a Business or Creator account and try again.

"No Facebook Pages found" error:

Your Instagram account needs to be linked to a Facebook Page. In Facebook, go to Settings → Instagram → Link Account to connect them.

Token expired:

Instagram access tokens expire periodically. If you see a "Reconnection required" warning in Dashboard → Platforms, click Reconnect and repeat the authorization steps.

What Happens After Connecting?

Once connected, your Aibrify team will:

1. Confirm the connection on their end

2. Start scheduling Instagram-specific content in your content calendar

3. Pull your existing follower count as a baseline in your analytics

Instagram typically starts appearing in your analytics within 24 hours of the first post publishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Facebook account to connect Instagram?

Yes. Instagram publishing uses the Meta API, which requires authorization through a connected Facebook account and Facebook Page. This is a requirement from Meta, not Aibrify.

Can I connect a personal Instagram account?

No. Meta's API only supports Business and Creator accounts for third-party publishing. You'll need to switch your account to Business or Creator type before connecting.
