Why Compare Platforms?
Different social media platforms serve different purposes and reach different audiences. A professional services firm might find LinkedIn drives the most qualified leads, while a consumer brand might see TikTok generating 10x the reach of Instagram. Comparing platforms helps you and your Aibrify team understand where your content is working hardest.
Accessing the Platform Comparison View
Navigate to: Dashboard → Analytics → Platform Comparison
Or, from the main Analytics page, use the Platform dropdown and select "Compare All" to see each platform's data in a side-by-side layout.
What You Can Compare
The Platform Comparison view shows these metrics for each connected platform over your selected date range:
| Metric | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| Total Reach | How many unique people your content reached |
| Avg. Engagement Rate | How engaged your audience is relative to reach |
| Posts Published | How many posts your team published |
| Net Followers Gained | Audience growth on that platform |
| Total Link Clicks | Traffic driven to your website |
| Avg. Reach per Post | Average reach each individual post achieved |
Interpreting Platform Differences
Reach vs. Engagement Trade-off
Platforms with high reach (like TikTok) often have lower engagement rates, while platforms with smaller but more targeted audiences (like LinkedIn) can show higher engagement rates. Neither is inherently better — the right platform depends on your business goals.
Volume Differences Are Normal
You might publish 20 Instagram posts and only 8 LinkedIn posts in a month. This is intentional — your Aibrify team calibrates posting frequency per platform based on what each audience expects and what drives results.
Engagement Rate Benchmarks Differ by Platform
Do not compare the raw engagement rate number across platforms directly. A 1% engagement rate is exceptional on Facebook but weak on TikTok. See the article on Key Metrics Explained for platform-specific benchmarks.
Platform Strengths: A Quick Reference
| Platform | Strongest For |
|---|---|
| Instagram | Visual brand building, product showcasing, high engagement |
| TikTok | Viral reach, younger demographics, video-first content |
| LinkedIn | B2B audiences, professional credibility, lead generation |
| Facebook | Local audiences, community building, events |
| X (Twitter) | Real-time engagement, news and industry commentary |
How Your Team Uses This Data
Your Aibrify team reviews platform comparison data monthly. If one platform is consistently underperforming relative to your goals, your team may:
- Adjust the posting frequency on that platform
- Shift to different content formats (e.g., more video vs. static images)
- Reallocate effort to higher-performing platforms
- Test new content angles to improve results
Any strategic changes will be communicated in your monthly report's team commentary section or via the Messages channel.
Setting Realistic Platform Goals
When discussing goals with your team, be specific about which platforms matter most for your business. If you're a B2B company, LinkedIn performance may deserve more weight than TikTok views. If you're a consumer brand targeting Gen Z, TikTok reach might be your primary KPI. Your team can adjust their content strategy to prioritize metrics on the platforms that matter most to you.
